Mirabelle Kajenjeri is a French pianist “with a unique touch, manipulating some of the most challenging acrobatics with a (discreet) smile, disarmingly natural and generous” (La Libre Belgique). Her first album “Étincelles” was released in collaboration with the label KNS Classical (2022). In 2024, she becomes a laureate of the Fondation Gautier Capuçon and starts an Artist residency at the Queen Elisabeth Musical Chapel, Belgium.
Born in 1998 to Burundian and Ukrainian parents, she had the opportunity to highlight this singular mix, as a guest speaker at the TEDxRoubaix (TED Talk) event.
Her talent was recognized and awarded in numerous international competitions such as the 1st Prize of the Santa Cecilia International Piano Competition (2021), 2nd Prize of the Kissinger KlavierOlymp (2023), semi-finalist of the Arthur Rubinstein Piano Master Competition (2023) and Cleveland International Piano Competition (2024).
She is a laureate of foundations such as the Fondation Gautier Capuçon (2024), Fondation Safran (2023), Wilhelm Kempff Foundation, Lieven Piano Foundation Vienna (2021), Yamaha Music Europe Foundation (2020), and Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now (2019).
Mirabelle Kajenjeri regularly performs in Europe, as part of renowned festivals such as the Flagey Piano Days, Kissinger Sommer, Lille Piano Festival, Piano Campus Festival and collaborates with orchestras such as Orchestre de Picardie, Orchestra Filarmonica Pugliese, Brandenburgische Staatsorchester Frankfurt, Orquestra Filarmónica Portuguesa.
Besides her concert activity, she is actively invested in musical outreach programs for children and young people, as well as presentations at corporate events (Ernst&Young).
Having graduated from the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien, the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover and the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles, she studied with Anna Malikova, Ewa Kupiec, Mihail Faerman, Vladimir Soultanov and her discovery of the piano at the age of 5, was initiated by Natalia Grebennikova, in Kyiv.
This young artist has several strings to her bow, since alongside her career as a pianist she is also passionate about the violin.
Having studied both instruments since childhood, Mirabelle Kajenjeri obtained her Bachelor’s degree in 2018 at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles with great distinction parallel to her piano degree.
Lorenzo Gatto, Olga Zolotareva, Ning Kam as well as Elizabeth Degrenand were her teachers.
